Who Are We?

Since 1988, Blackwell Career Management has provided career coaching for individuals seeking to maximize their opportunities when either looking for a new job or seeking to advance on their present one. Our clients learn how to effectively and appropriately market their talents and empower themselves in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

We work one-on-one with our clients to evaluate their priorities and plans, analyze how those goals mesh with the client’s experience and skills, and develop individualized action plans specifically designed to spotlight what prospective employers are looking for.

We focus on five critical areas to help you develop a strong career identity:

> Research: assessing your career, identifying where the jobs you want are, either within your current organization or in the job market; figuring out how to make sure you’re a custom fit for what a prospective employer wants.

> Resume: re-arranging, re-clustering and re-packaging your talents and skills to build an appropriate resume that meets the requirements of the job you are seeking; and the easy steps to take to keep it fresh and up-to-date.

> Circulation: getting your resume into the right hands, including writing engaging covering letters and filling out job applications that work; getting yourself into the places you need to be: valuable: self-marketing and networking techniques, as well as the importance of being involved in the community, making productive use of your time until the “real thing” comes along; and how to emphasize your value and potential for growth on the job.

> Interview: putting your best foot forward: how to focus on the point where your abilities intersect with prospective employers’ needs; how to project a strong “career identity,” with confidence and maximize your assets without overselling.

> Decision: make sure you understand the terms of prospective employment: the art of effective negotiating with a new employer; thinking about your future with the organization; analyzing benefit packages; and, finally, being a successful employee.

Blackwell Career Management also offers an Annual Career Check-up to help you keep your career goals on track, your resume up-to-date and your career identity sharpened.
